(My  report here is based on my rough translation from the Dutch of two original very recent reports in the Dutch Hockey Board’s magazine and from their  website  Hockey.nl . I also keep a weather eye on the best and most comprehensive and respected independent Dutch Hockey news website Hoofdlassehockey.nl which I have contributed images to. if you Dutch is ropey I recommend you use Google chrome which offers you a rough translation as an option when you visit websites in Dutch and fine for getting the gist of what is being said )

Maartje Paumen was speaking for the new issue of hockey.nl about her excitement at the prospect of the new training camp to South Africa in late January. “I see it really as a new beginning, the beginning of a new journey. The group that travels to the South African camp is the ‘new Orange”, she enthused “and is the biggest selection squad yet.”

Paumen admits she does not know all newcomers going to South Africa yet . “Some newcomers I know only by name and face out of the league. But this trip is a great opportunity to get to know everyone. ” When in South Africa hopes Maartje hopes to visit Robben Island (where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned) where they previously did not get a chance and she wants to take a wildlife safari trip and visit to township.
